At the GSWR, the key to success is customer service.  All employees of the railroad are committed to serving the customers by providing timely and reliable service.

GSWR employess based out of Dawson, Georgia take care of:

  • Locating and providing necessary equipment
  • Negotiating competitive shipping rates
  • Managing final billing
  • Scheduling and tracing movements
  • Weighing railcars
  • Diversions
  • Special switching

Car repairs are handled promptly by local contractors.  This includes the re-marking or upgrading of railcars.

The GSWR utilizes Railinc command car movement/billing systems.  Through this system, waybilling is fed into the national rail information network, enabling GSWR customers to trace shipments through the national network for themselves.
